Cannock Crematorium

A new style of memorial gardens.

With the existing concept plan as a base, I further developed the design of the memorial gardens which included the design and detail of custom ashes receptacles, custom memorial plaques, paths through the site, and the development of a special memorial garden for infants and babies.

The garden consists of a series of walks and spaces for contemplation and reflection, with texture, form and colour the guiding principles of the planting design.

I worked closely with a bereavement counsellor from the local branch of SANDS (Still and Neonatal Death Society) to ensure the design would meet the needs of grieving parents and families. An equally challenging and rewarding project to be a part of.
