Murton Housing Development

A new housing development with ecology at its core.

I worked closely with ecologists and planners to deliver a masterplan for a new 3000 home development, with a dedicated nature reserve at its core.

The entire development is centered around the need to provide new residents with functional and accessible open space, whilst also balancing the ecological needs of local birdlife on site.

A network of public paths and spaces weaves around designated areas for nesting birds, creating a green corridor through the centre of the development. It was a challenge working at both micro and macro scales to ensure the development met the needs for all residents, human and wildlife.
